Dried manure and feed on equipment that never seems to come clean

What you see

Manure dries onto scrapers, feed wagons and pen gates, and the wash leaves a film that smells the same the next morning. Somebody is dragging a long hose from the one spigot that works.

Why it happens

Manure and feed carry fat and protein that cold water spreads instead of lifting. A washer sized for a garage can't move enough water to get through a barn before the next chore, and a gas engine is the wrong thing to run inside one.

What it does to you

Wash time comes out of a day that's already full. Equipment that stays dirty rusts faster and hides wear until it breaks, usually at the worst time of the season.

The shop asks what you're washing (the parlor, pens, equipment, trailers) and whether it's indoors or out. It asks what power you have, single-phase or three-phase, whether natural gas or LP is on site, and how far the work is from water.

Alkota's Gas Fired series is the one its brochure names for farms and hog producers: natural gas or LP, stationary, 2.1 to 10 GPM, with a steam option for grease. If you have power but no gas, the Hotsy 800 is an electric, oil-fired portable on 12-inch tires, 28 inches wide, 4.0 to 5.0 GPM at 2000 to 3000 PSI, per the manufacturer's 2016 brochure. For pens and fields away from the barn, a trailer brings its own water: the AWW-HDS5 on the UTT330 carries 330 gallons. In California, the Alkota 5357C on a Kubota diesel is the build listed as California-compliant.

Breakthrough is the all-purpose detergent for most of it. Ripper I goes on equipment grease, and Verde All Purpose is Hotsy's green cleaner.

Tell us what's going wrong

A dead burner, a citation, a bid due Friday. Your words.
How do we reach you? A phone or an email is enough.
A few more questions (optional)
Downtime, labor, a lost bid. A rough idea is fine.
Brand, model, age if you know it.

Here's what happens next: The Pacoima counter calls you within one business hour. The call is 15 minutes. We ask what's going wrong, how you plan to pay, and who else weighs in. At the end we set a next step, or tell you straight that we're not the right shop. Nobody pitches anything until we understand the job.

Rather just talk? Leave a number.
